Earlier this month, Apple unveiled their upgraded AI – Siri, and now allegedly, LG is making quite a few advancements in the field of AI technology. Given that there is a lot of excitement surrounding the LG G7 and as per new reports, the handset could very well arrive with its own home-grown artificial assistance.
According to a South Korean publication, LG right now has a division with two research centers that are currently working on the AI technology. The office of Chief Technology Officer is currently heading the two centers. The report also suggests that the AI will be limited to smartphone and is expected to arrive in a wide range of LG’s home appliances. As for the centers, one is responsible for developing and deep learning of the AI, and another one has manufactured core technology.
Speaking of the LG G7, the handset is one of the most awaited smartphones right now, partly due to the kind of rumoured specifications the device is bringing. The most exciting news is that the LG G7 will be powered by the very powerful Snapdragon 845 chipset. The device is rumoured to come with an OLED screen and removable batteries. The device is expected to come with a bezel-less design along with a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the smartphone. The device is also expected to get rid of the bulge on the back that seems to plague its predecessor – the LG G6.
Because the handset is expected to launch in 2018, the handset could arrive just in time with Android’s next operating system – which is allegedly the Android 8.0 O. Currently the LG G6 comes with 3300 mAh battery that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology. The successor is expected to roll out with a more powerful battery that’ll support the upgraded features.
If this report surrounding the LG G7’s AI tech turns out to be true, then the handset will set out a tough competition in the flagship market.
